God made man in His image and after His likeness (Gen. 1:26).
There is no us without God.
We are His image, so He is the substance of who we are. Our identity is firmly rooted and dependent upon Him.
We cannot trust that we are who we are (our Identity) without trusting in who God is.
By disavowing God’s integrity, we renounce our own dignity and self-value, for we have no value asides Him. Therefore unbelief in God is the most destructive poison with which a human person can be infected.
Refusal to express faith in God invariably results in lack of self-value, which then reflects itself outwardly in a lack of appreciation of the value and potentials of others.
Whatever God says to us, reveals Him and also defines us. His Word is our point of contact and relationship with Him. When God told Adam not to eat the fruit of the Tree of knowledge of good and evil, and that if they eat it, they shall surely die, that command revealed Him as their source and defined them as His dependants. Truth be told, man cannot live without God
Disavowing God’s Word is false claim that one can live without God (Matt. 4:4).
When we receive and believe God’s Word, we affirm that God is true, and that we are true, as well. We are His offspring. How then can He be untrue that we may be true? Let God alone be true but every man a liar (Rom. 3:4). We can only be true by affirming His truth, His Word, or else we will be liars.
Faith in God validates God’s integrity in your heart and your integrity in His heart, therefore pleasing Him and in effect pleasing you, too – Heb. 11:6
We do not have any basis of interrelationship or fellowship with God other than His Word, for what He says reveals Him and that also defines us. In Him we live, and move, and have our being.
Faith in the Word is a MUST, and it affirms that God is what He says He is, can do what He says He can do, and will do what He say He will do. Faith also underscores that God will faithfully, unfailing and undoubtedly respond to all who believe His Word, for He is a Rewarder of all those who diligently seek Him.
We must embrace and wholeheartedly believe God’s Word which mirrors God to us, and mirrors us to us in Christ.
Without the Word we do not know who God is, and we do not know who we are, either. Without faith in the Word, we do not have faith in God, and we do not have faith in ourselves, either.
Unbelief in God’s Word is the root of man’s crisis of identity.
Unbelief in the Word is the cause of the fall of man. Faith in the living Word (Jesus Christ) is the cause of the rise and reinstatement of man to glory. Therefore faith in God does not only affirm and glorify Him, it also dignifies us.
Absolute Faith in God is the clarity and strength of God’s identity to me, and my identity to me. In faith, God and I tie up as one, inseparable and unbeatable, in everlasting fellowship with Him.
Faith in God is the foundation of my identity and potentials. Doubt staggers the knowledge of who I am.
I choose to believe God. I refuse to disavow His Word. He is what He says He is to me according to His Word, and I am what He says I am, by the same token.
